Accommodation within the Cyclists Welcome scheme gives cyclists the confidence that when you book, your needs will be well catered for. A separate and secure facility should be provided with a heat source for drying outdoor clothes. A bike rack and a lockable undercover area for overnight storage should be on hand, along with that all important puncture repair kit and washing facilities.

Walkers Welcome
As walking becomes ever more poplar in the UK, so does the demand for quality accommodation to have the facilities which walkers require. Accommodation within the Walkers Welcome scheme will have space for drying clothes, boot scrapes, a first aid kit and maps and books available to aid you on your route, amongst other things.

Families Welcome
The Families Welcome accreditation gives you the confidence that you are booking somewhere which will meet the needs of your family. Storage for pushchairs, nappy bins, family bedrooms and refrigeration facilities for baby food are just some of the benefits of booking such accommodation.

Welcome Pets
Taking your pet away on holiday with you might be your idea of the perfect break. If so, look out for the Welcome Pets! logo. This accommodation will offer protective mats for pets eating in bedrooms where permitted, a scoop and bags for dogs, a litter tray for cats and pet washing facilities. Any restrictions should be made clear to the guests at the time of booking to avoid any problems.

Green Tourism
The GTBS award recognises places to stay and visit that are taking action to support the local area and the wider environment. It’s the largest sustainable (green) scheme to operate globally and assesses hundreds of fantastic places to stay and visit in Britain.

Businesses that meet the standard for a GTBS award receive a Bronze, Silver, or Gold award based on their level of achievement. Areas that a business is assessed on include Management and Marketing, Social Involvement and Communication, Energy, Water, Purchasing, Waste, Transport, Natural and Cultural Heritage and Innovation.

The awards form the regional heat of the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence and winners go on to take their place in the national finals to compete alongside the cream of UK tourism.
