Clervaux was rebuilt in 1900 from early 1800 farm cottages. It is now one of two larger cottages in a stone terrace of 6 next to Pondicherry Farm near Rothbury. The farm was owned by the Duke of Northumberland until 1893. It is on a gated private road and faces south west to catch the setting sun over the Northumbrian hills at 150 ft above the River Coquet. The cottage was tastefully refurbished by an award winning architect in 2006. It will accommodate 6 people and a cot. There is a master double with en suite shower/wet room with a view to the river, a single room with additional hideaway bed which has views over garden and fields, and a twin room in the roof space with the best views of all. Central heating by oil-fired combi boiler with radiators in each room. Ancient British sites are within 10 minutes' walk.
