A Victorian miner's cottage with country views built circa 1860. Well-equipped, clean and comfortable, it has been completely re-furbished to sleep 5.
Fully double-glazed with central heating and gas fire in lounge. Kitchen/diner and lounge on ground floor and bathroom and two bedrooms (main has 1 double and 1 single, the other has 2 singles) on the first floor. Fully enclosed patio and garden. All linen and gas/electricity included.
Up to 2 medium-sized well-behaved dogs welcome (£10 per week per dog).Guide Dogs welcome - free of charge. Sorry - no other pets.
Located in small village (with Roman Fort remains) 3 miles from Bishop Auckland and 9 from Durham City. Public footpath opposite the cottage leads to fields, woods and the Auckland Walk. Major supermarkets and banks are available at Bishop Auckland or Spennymoor (both 3 miles) with Service Station with shop 300yds away. Local pubs and inns.
Ideal touring centre for the North East’s attractions including Durham Cathedral and Castle, Raby Castle, Barnard Castle, Teesdale and Weardale, Beamish Museum, Locomotion, the Roman Wall, the Durham and Yorkshire Dales and Moors, and Yorkshire and Northumberland coasts.
