Cyclists Welcome 2012
Walkers Welcome 2012| Open All Year |

Walk into Hillcrest House and step back in time to an age of elegance, spaciousness, and tranquillity.
We have just completed a full and sympathetic restoration of this Georgian property while providing 21st Century facilities such as central heating throughout, satellite TV, and wired and wireless computer networking.
The two guest bedrooms are located in the loft area with its exposed wooden structural beams. Each is large, airy, and comfortable with double bed and en-suite bathroom.
Choose between Mrs. Pringle’s Room (Mrs. Pringle lived here in the middle of the 19th Century; during our renovations we found an intriguing note referring to some work planned for her), and The Writing Room where we found an ancient copybook hidden in the wall space – it’s easy to imagine one of the house servants teaching herself to write by lamplight in the evening.
Walkers and Cyclists are welcome. We provide a drying room with drying racks where you can leave your outdoor gear overnight if you wish, and secure storage for bikes. Your host is a keen walker and will be able to suggest local walks of varying difficulty and duration.
We are also animal-friendly, having a resident border collie and large colour-coordinated cat. Dogs are welcome on request. They are not allowed in the bedrooms but can bunk down on the ground floor.
Breakfast and evening meals (if requested) are served in the ground floor guest dining room/lounge. On cool evenings warm yourself by the cheerful flames of the log-burning stove. All meals are vegetarian and home-cooked, using locally-sourced food whenever possible. Your host has been an ovo-lacto vegetarian for 35 years, but other types of vegetarians and vegans, and those with special dietary needs, will be catered for on request. Packed lunches can also be provided.
