Pepperclose Cottage is a fully restored 18thC stone self-catering holiday cottage in Bamburgh, Northumberland. It sits across the cricket field below Bamburgh Castle, which can be seen through the windows to the east and south. Bamburgh beach, undoubtedly one of the best in Northumberland and arguably one of the best in England, is just two minutes down a quiet grassy path from the cottage door.
Situated off The Wynding, a lane running down to the golf course, yet only a minute’s walk from the centre of Bamburgh, this is one of the very best locations in the most stunning village on Northumberland’s wonderful Heritage Coast. Pepperclose Cottage is a luxury self-catering holiday cottage in Bamburgh, Northumberland for a family or group of four.
A light and airy sitting room with a dining table is at the centre of the cottage. There is a log stove, comfortably seating and masses of books, pictures and prints, giving the cottage a very homely feeling. A flat-screen free view television, DVD, stereo with iPod dock and weathered oak furniture, quality pictures and prints, and a real sense of style make this the perfect home from home.
The granite topped kitchen, opening from the sitting room, has views down to the beach, and is equipped with everything that one could possibly wish for, including a modern Neff electric oven and hob with microwave, washer/dryer, dish-washer, and an extensive range of kitchen utensils.
A short corridor from the sitting room leads to a large double bedroom and adjoining bathroom, with a separate bath and cabinet shower. The bedroom has a king-size bed, flat-screen television, radio and walk-in wardrobe – you could be forgiven for thinking you were in a 5 star hotel! There is crisp linen and fluffy towels to complement the luxurious experience.
Through the front hall is the second bedroom. This can be made up with either twin beds or a super king-size double (please state your preference when booking). A fitted wardrobe, a dressing table with views across to the castle, an en suite shower room with wash hand basin and loo all make this a perfect room for two adults or two children. Cots and high chairs are available, and we will try to assist with any request you may have.
Pepperclose Cottage faces south with a delightful south-facing private terrace with table and chairs by the front door. The door from the kitchen opens onto a large paved terrace with a dining table, barbecue, mature plants, pots of flowers and herbs and a view to the coast. The garden gate opens onto a grassy path running down to the dunes and beach.
All in all, Pepperclose Cottage is perfect for a self-catering family holiday in Northumberland.
