-Only 50m from the medieval walls of Barnard Castle.
-100m from the bustling town shops, pubs & restaurants.
Our cottage in Barnard Castle provides the most perfect location for a memorable holiday in the Northern Dales. It has all the modern facilities you'd expect, together with those added touches of luxury that make good accommodation great. Indulge yourself with a great holiday break in this unspoilt part of the country.
'Riverdale Cottage' is in a prime position close to the Tourist Information Centre. Step out of the front door and you can enjoy miles of fantastic woodland walks, access to the historic Barnard Castle itself and all the amenities of a market town that's full of life. All this without crossing a single road.
Tucked away down a leafy lane by the upper reaches of the River Tees, 'Riverdale Cottage' was once a farm stable, originally built around 1860. Then in 1996, the property was lovingly renovated to provide a cosy one bedroomed detached cottage with romantic couples in mind.
The property has been decorated and furnished to a high standard with every amenity you could wish for. Refurbished to a very high standard, the cottage has a sunny southwest facing lounge with French doors leading onto the garden. There's also a fully fitted kitchen/diner (including dishwasher & auto washer), double bedroom with fitted furniture, new fully tiled bathroom, separate WC and of course full central heating and double glazing. The sofa in the lounge converts to a bed suitable for an extra guest or two small children. The secluded garden is a real suntrap and off street car parking is a real bonus.
Walk out to the bustling Market place and watch with the comings and goings of the local Dales folk. Barnard Castle is the centre of Dales' life, dozens of pubs, restaurants, museums, galleries and specialist shops are within a few minutes' walk of the cottage. A minute in the other direction and you are in Flatts Wood by the bank of the River Tees-great for walkers and ramblers. A well behaved dog is welcome (£15 supplement) however our cottage is unsuitable for larger dogs.
Other local attractions include the internationally famous Bowes Museum, Middleton in Teesdale & High Force, England's biggest waterfall. Within an hour's drive you could be in York, Durham, Newcastle, Harrogate or the Lake District.
Champagne, chocolates, flowers and other special treats can be provided by prior arrangement. Come and indulge yourself at Riverdale Cottage.
