Dove Cottage is a stone built end terrace 2 storey dwelling based on Dovecote Lane. with accommodation for 5 people
The Old Forge is a tasteful stone built 2 storey converted forge dwelling based on Upper Dodds Lane and sleeps 3 although 4 can be accommodated.
Both are ideally situated in Alnwick, and are only a 2 minute walk to the historic town centre.
Alnwick is in the heart of Northumberland, famous for its unspoilt beauty and is one of the most picturesque areas of countryside in the whole of England – with long sandy beaches quiet friendly villages, the Simonside and Cheviot Hills, numerous stately homes and well preserved medieval castles.
Alnwick Castle (Hogwarts), the setting for the Harry Potter films and home of the Duke & Duchess of Northumberland is ideal for a fantastic family day out with many enjoyable activities included not forgetting seasonal concerts and festivals.
The Alnwick Garden, a short walk from the castle, this amazing contemporary garden is the brainchild of the Duchess, this dazzling attraction is full of unique features. There's the Poison Garden, the Bamboo Labyrinth and its crowning glory, the Grand Cascade and a gigantic water feature. Children will have endless fun dodging the water jets, exploring the huge tree house and walking across wobbly rope bridges.
Alnwick is made for browsing, with its cobbled streets and elegant stone buildings housing traditional inns, stylish restaurants’, al fresco cafes’ and specialist shops - look out for second-hand books at the world renowned Barters Books.
The medieval Market Place buzzes come market day and hosts an annual music and food festivals. Expect lively evenings too, with regular local music and live theatre.
The breathtaking Northumberland coastline beaches are a short drive away, offering glorious sandy beaches, coastal walking, cycling trails, links golf courses and fantastic wildlife watching.
