Tigh na Rudh is one of a group of properties which make up Cleet Court, a modern development in a quiet part of Berwick, tucked into the leeward side of the ancient Town Walls with their grassy embankments and ramparts. The location is excellent, just a short stroll to the town centre, the mouth of the river Tweed, or the lovely coast. Inside, the property is warm, well-equipped and comfortable. It makes a great base for walking, bird watching and exploring the surrounding countryside.
Tigh na Rudh offers Visit Britain 4 star accommodation, comprising of:
3 bedrooms (1 x double, 1 x twin, 1 x single). Bathroom with bath and shower over, washbasin and WC. Additional downstairs WC and washbasin. Spacious fitted kitchen and separate dining area with back door out to small shared garden area, and glass doors opening into sitting room. Sitting room with electric fire.
The property has full gas central heating. There is an electric cooker with hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, automatic washing machine, colour TV, DVD player, radio/CD player, etc. All fuel and power is included in the rent. Bed-linen and towels are included in the rent. There is a small shared garden area to the rear. Off-road parking is allocated for one car, and roadside parking is available nearby. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. The property is unsuitable for children under 5 (as there is no enclosed garden area). The town walls and coast are 1 minute walk away. Shops, pubs, restaurants etc in the town centre approx. 3 minutes walk away.
Berwick upon Tweed is England’s most northerly town and has changed hands 14 times whilst the English and Scots fought for control of the Borders. This small coastal town retains much of its charm, with quaint, narrow streets enclosed within the great Elizabethan town walls, walks along which offer spectacular views over the coast and river estuary. The town offers excellent amenities including shops/ supermarkets, restaurants and pubs, and the Maltings Arts Centre provides an extensive programme of cultural events including music, films and theatre. Fishing, golf and horse riding are all available locally, and the leisure centre offers a pool with waves and flume. The seaside resort of Spittal, with excellent sandy beaches, is two miles away. Berwick has a frequent train service to both Newcastle and Edinburgh.
