The Official Visitor Information Site for North East England
There are some amazing events taking place in North East England this season!
Now's the time to take a look - and book - before everyone else discovers just how much we have to offer. Join us for world-class events here in Britain's most exciting region. Take in the excitement of the BBC Proms in the Park in Tees Valley, catch the music and entertainment of South Tyneside Summer Festival or dress up for tea with the Queen (or at least Rolf Harris' acclaimed portrait!) at The Bowes Museum in Durham.
Visit the sensational new Picture House exhibition at Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens. Commissioned by English Heritage, Picture House features the work of fifteen artists, from living wallpaper to films spied through keyholes, and is an experience for all the family to enjoy.
Dott 07 (Designs of the time 2007) is a year of community projects, events and exhibitions based in North East England that explore what life in a sustainable society could be like - and how design can help us get there. The year culminates in a twelve day festival in NewcastleGateshead in October 2007 where visitors can improve six aspects of daily life (health issues, food, school, energy, tourism, and travel) in practical ways.
