A long-established event in conjunction with Darlington’s Local Motion initiative to encourage people to increase their health and well-being through cycling.
This event runs between April and September with up to 20 different rides for all abilities. All one-day events start and finish locally, with some travelling as far as Cumbria, and up to 500 riders at the biggest event. The Cycling Family Fun Day is held in June at the recently refurbished South Park, including a ‘bikathon’ for the whole family.

Road - Travelling on the A1(M) turn off at the A167 junction signed Newton Aycliffe/Darlington. Follow signs for A167 Darlington all the way to the Town Centre. Turn left on to the ring road (St Cuthbert's Way) and continue straight ahead until you see signs to the Town Hall; the Dolphin Centre is opposite. Nearest parking is behind the Town Hall.
Rail - Most main line trains from Edinburgh, Newcastle and Durham stop at Darlington. Local services run from Bishop Auckland via Shildon. Exit the station on to Victoria Road, at the roundabout turn right onto Feethams. You will see signs to the Town Hall, the Dolphin Centre is opposite.
