The former Station Master's house has been sympathetically and tastefully restored. It stands approx 1500 feet above sea level, in AONB, Parkhead marks mile point 100 on the renowned C2C Cycle route, on the traffic free section of the Warkerley Way. Parkhead is an ideal base if you wish to visit the many other attractions: Killhope Lead mines, Weardale Museum, Beamish Museum, Tamfield Railway, Locomotion NRM, Durham City. Circular cycle/ walking routes, fishing, bird watching.
