What is a PodScroll?

PodScrolls are suitable for use on any colour screen iPod / video iPod. A PodScroll is simply a collection of pages (images) that you can save onto your Apple iPod and scroll through using the scroll wheel. Our Walking Guide PodScrolls contain all the information from our walking guides including maps and photos, letting you take the guide with you on a walk, without the need to print it out. We do however always recommend that you refer to the relevant Ordnance Survey map and take a detailed map with you to refer to on route.

How do I download a PodScroll?

Click the "Download PodScroll" link on the page of your chosen walk and save the file to your desktop. Double click this file to 'unzip' it.

How do put a PodScroll on my iPod using on a PC?

1. Open your 'My Pictures' folder (found in the Start menu)
2. Drag the folder you have downloaded (i.e. 'Walking Guide 19 Holy Island') to your 'My Pictures' folder.
3. Plug your iPod into your computer, and open iTunes.
4. Select your iPod in the iTunes source list, click the Photos tab and ensure that iTunes is set up to sync photos from your 'My Pictures' folder.
5. Your new Walking Guide PodScroll will now appear on your iPod under 'Photos'

How do I put a PodScroll on my iPod using a Mac?

1. Open iPhoto from your Applications folder.
2. Drag the folder you have downloaded into iPhoto.
3. Plug your iPod into your Mac and open iTunes.
4. Select your iPod in the iTunes source list, click the Photos tab and ensure that iTunes is set up to sync photos from iPhoto.
5. Your new Walking Guide PodScroll will now appear on your iPod under 'Photos'

How do I use a PodScroll?

Go to 'Photos' on your iPod, select the PodScroll name in the list i.e. 'Walking Guide 19 Holy Island' a click the centre button twice.

Try not to click the play/pause () button while viewing a PodScroll as this will start the slideshow feature.

Click the forward or back buttons or use the scroll wheel to navigate the PodScroll, using the page numbers top right to help you.
