Welcome to 'Head for the Hills'. If you enjoy walking but prefer a guide to a map then you have come to the right place! Through my website you can book me to act as your guide for walks in the beautiful Cheviot Hills of Northumberland in North East England.. These hills lie mostly in the Northumberland National Park and offer walkers a sense of wilderness and solitude. Take a look at the slideshow of these hills on my website; perhaps you will be tempted to visit them too?
I have walked in these hills for 20 years. I am also a nationally accredited hillguide. On my walks I take every opportunity to enliven your walk with details about geology, social history and wildlife and flowers. Individuals as well as groups can book but the overall group size is a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 6. Small groups are more fun! We see more and talk more and stay together as a group.
There are 6 walks to choose from ranging from easy to challenging. If you are interested in prehistoric cup and ring marks then Walk 1 is definitely for you. I'll take you to some of the best examples in Northumberland. Perhaps you prefer a challenging walk up to the Border Ridge to get stunning views into Scotland and to learn more about the time of the notorious Border Reivers? There are typically two walks a week running between mid-April to mid-October.
