Allenheads
Set in the centre of village, at heart of North Pennines this community-owned heritage centre depicts the lead-mining past of the village of Allenheads. You should see the important Armstrong water engine, the evidence of lead-mining past around the centre of the village. Visit the restored blacksmith's shop and displays and walk round the nature trail and back to the Hemmel cafe, the pub or riverside picnic area.
