Beamish Wild is brimming with lots of new activities this year and has been specifically designed to offer families the chance to experience an active and fun day out.
In addition to the 70 resident birds of prey new activities on offer at the site include the Tip Top, a 20 foot pole climb; Topple Tower, where daredevils can climb and stack a tower of crates as high as they can before it topples them off; Zipping, a run of exhilarating zip wires; Monkey Trouble tree ropes; and the giant Climbing Tree, with grips to help people squirrel their way to the top. Qualified staff from Beamish Wild will supervise all visitors using these attractions. All of the above are available during weekends, school and bank holidays. For further information please contact the centre on 01207 233 733 extension 7.
For those who prefer to keep their feet firmly on the ground, other activities including archery, tractor rides, den building and a mysterious woodland maze, have all been designed to provide hours of entertainment for the family.
Flight demonstrations are held daily at 11:00 am and 14:00 pm and they last approximately one hour. The kids will love the Owl Walks when they will take some of our smaller, friendlier owls for a nice walk through the centre under the careful supervision of our expert falconers.
Our High Ropes Assault course is the perfect fix for the slightly older (over 10) adrenaline junkie. Check out www.beamishwild.co.uk for more information and to book your tickets.
After a full day of fun you can always refuel at the Tree Tops Café with burgers, Pizzas and salads or why not treat the whole family to a great meal in our Stables Pub and Real Ale Brewery!
